Tour 16

About Tour 16

Throughout our site, we tell and retell a story of a region that is considered geographically foreign to the many impressions of Oklahoma.  We use the original words of the WPA Guide to steer us from the past to the present, including how Eastern Oklahoma has changed over time.  The WPA Guide To 1930’s Oklahoma: Tour 16 begins at Lake Francis Dam in Watts, Oklahoma, then follows a route to Tahlequah and Cookson, and then ends in Gore, Oklahoma.

In November, we took the tour in reverse - beginning in Gore and ending in Watts.  There was a “Then" trip taken in Oklahoma and we want you to experience the “Now."
